What is the Studio, from Stream it Store it?

The Studio from Stream it Store it is a web-based tool that you can use to create, store, and deliver your media. Audio, Video, and PDF files can be uploaded through the Studio for global on-demand access.  Real-time Live Broadcasts can be automatically recorded, in whole or in part, for future access and sharing.

Studio also helps you share your content to your social networks, and Ad / content driven platforms, if desired. But also provides you with an alternative, safe, option that is completely under your control. No distractions. A safe home-base for your content and your audience.

All media is made available through mobile responsive Media Centers (that you can embed anywhere, or link to directly), well as through RSS/Podcast feeds, and Mobile Apps.

Studio - the basics...

Episode: each media file or live broadcast posted is contained within an individual "Episode" (acting like the media’s container). An Episode consists of unique details (title, date, speaker, topic, location, etc…), and can include an audio file, video file, PDF document, and/or artwork. An Episode is then assigned to one (or multiple) Playlists.

Playlist: A Playlist (aka Channel) is a collection of Episodes. A Studio can contain as many unique Playlists as desired (no limit). Playlists are then assigned to your Media Centers, Players, and/or Apps for access by viewers.  Each Playlist is also its own RSS/Podcast feed.

Types of Playlist:

Static Playlist: is a list of Live or on-demand Episodes from the Archive that visitors can access at anytime.  You can sort your static Playlist's Episodes by title, date, or manually.

Dynamic Playlist: allows you to set a "rule" that will control the availability of Episodes within this Playlist.  For example, you may want only the single most recent Episode to show, or perhaps the past five.  Creating a dynamic rule will automatically manage Episode availability.

Scheduled Broadcasting Playlist:  the broadcaster can set the start date & time that the Episodes within this Playlist type will automatically begin to play/stream through their Media Centers and Players. The player’s controls will not be visible and therefore all viewers will be watching at the same position within the media file’s timeline, during playback. The broadcaster can then moderate and encourage interaction between their staff and the viewers through the Media Center's Chat utility.  It is like watching a scheduled TV program that begins at a set time, with everyone watching at the same point in time. Please note: due to the technology involved, this feature may not function properly on all mobile devices.

Players: Create individual Episode Players, or Playlist Players that can be embed across multiple websites and blogs. These Players are fully mobile responsive to accommodate a wide variety of device accessibility.

Media Center: the Media Center is a feature-rich “player” that provides many additional features/widgets beyond just media playback.  The Media Center allows visitors to access all of your archived and Live content, and are also fully mobile responsive.

Additional Media Center Features:
- Live Chat for real-time interaction with visitors during a Live Broadcast event
- add Notes that visitors can add to, and save privately, for them to access at a later time
- guests can login and bookmark their Favorite Episodes
- easily Share media through Social Networks.
- use the Call to Action to display messages or graphics to visitors, in real-time, with no page refresh required
- use the Related Episodes feature to draw a special connection between episodes/sermons that “fit” together

The workflow . . .

A few terms / defintions . . .

Live Stream (real-time): anyone not in attendance (from local community and around the world) can tune-in and watch an event from the broadcaster's location as it happens! The equipment required to perform a Live broadcast can be very basic and does not require a large budget. To get started, a decent quality webcam connected to a computer with an internet connection is all it takes.  The encoding software is free and easy to use.  Anyone can be live broadcasting within minutes! Archive broadcasts following the event to provide on-demand access to the recording.

On-Demand (from archive): media is archived/stored on our servers and can be accessed 24/7 when requested by visitors. The broadcaster can upload an existing video and/or audio file, or Live Stream the content for archiving. We can suggest software tools can be use to prepare media (audio, video) prior to uploading to help simplify the process.

Mobile Apps: Mobile Apps allow visitors to access your content (Live and archived) anywhere they have access to the internet through WiFi or a cellular data connection. All accounts can generate custom apps for both the iPhone and Android devices.

Podcast Feeds: as the broadcaster creates new Episodes and upload/streams content to their Playlists, they are automatically building a Podcast/RSS feed. These feeds can be submitted to online services such as iTunes for inclusion within their Directory. People can subscribe to feeds and the content will automatically be downloaded to their systems as new content is added to the feed.  Use these RSS feeds to provide access to archived content through set-top devices such as Roku and Boxee.  You can also use these RSS feeds to create layers through 3rd party software & widgets.

The Process

- Embed anywhere Media Center / Players (via iFrame embed code), and submit Podcast feed(s) to iTunes.
- Create unlimited Episodes within Studio.  Then, upload, or Live Stream content (media) to the Episode.
- Note: Live Stream to the same Episode every broadcast, and have the Studio automatically publish the live recording to a new Episode within the Archive... following the event.
- That’s it!  People can watch a Live stream, or they can enjoy content on-demand through your Media Centers, Players, Podcast Feeds, or Mobile Apps!

Features Rundown...

- ADVANCED VIDEO CONVERSION / ADAPTIVE BIT RATE STREAMING: upload a single high quality source video file and the Studio can produce multiple files ("derivatives") at various bit rates and resolutions (including HD). You select your desired transcoding profiles and the Studio will take it from there. For playback, the viewer's device will automatically play the best quality stream based on their connection speed.  The viewer can also manually select between the different qualities of video 'on-the-fly' (and not lose their position within the file during playback). Please note: each video file bit rate / derivative that you create will produce a separate video file and this will add to your Storage total.

- PRE/POST-ROLL MEDIA: select media files from your archive to serve as a pre-roll and/or post-roll for the Episodes in a particular Playlist. You can have them play only once per Playlist, or for every Episode within the Playlist as the viewer moves between Episodes within your Media Centers or Players.  Please note: due to the technology involved, this feature does not function properly on all mobile devices.

- BATCH PROCESSING: search and sort your archive, then perform a batch operation across all selected Episodes. For example, you can turn off the podcast and download settings, or delete a batch of Episodes with a single process.  You can also change the Artwork across all of the selected Episodes - simultaneously.

- PRE-PUBLISH LIVE STREAM EDITING: trim "heads and tails" (the beginning and/or end) off of a recorded Live Broadcast before you Publish the event to your permanent on-demand Archive.

- SELECTIVE CLIP PLAYBACK: within the Episode’s video tab, select a portion of the media file's timeline (instead of the full duration) for playback within Media Centers and Players. Note: if the playback takes place outside of the Media Centers or Players, the full file will play (not just the portion you set within the Episode).

- SCHEDULE RECORD AVAILABILITY: create your Episodes ahead of time, and have them automatically activate / de-activate (within your Media Centers, Players, and/or Podcast Feeds) on a particular date.

- DIRECT PUBLISH TO YOUTUBE & VIMEO: upload your video files to your Studio and then push the same video file to your YouTube and/or Vimeo channel. (Without having to re-upload the video to these platforms as a separate process.)

- MULTIPLE LANGUAGE INTERFACES: the Studio, Media Centers, will utilize the Google translate feature to automatically translate the text and labels into the available/supported languages.

- MULTIPLE USER LOGIN ACCESS & PERMISSIONS: create as many user-logins as needed for your Studio, and set individual permissions for each. For example; a user may have access to media from a certain Playlist only, and can only add new media to the Playlist - not delete existing media.

- OPTIONAL CUSTOM URL’s FOR EACH MEDIA CENTER: point your own domains (using an A Record) to each of your Media Centers. All public links will be masked with your custom domain name (download links, rss feeds, etc…).

- FULL HTML5 INTEGRATION: both the Media Centers and Players will be fully HTML5 compliant to ensure cross-platform compatibility (for Flash and non-Flash devices).

- DEFAULT STUDIO SETTINGS: Create your own Studio template so that as you create new Episodes your presets will already be in place (to simplify workflow).

- APP MANAGER: select what content (Playlists and their assigned Episodes) will be accessible through the Mobile apps (iOS, Android).

- ARTWORK MANAGER: upload images to your Artwork manager then use the integrated editor to crop the source image, thereby creating unique images for specific applications (player art, podcast art, etc…).

- SCHEDULED BROADCASTING / SIMULATED LIVE STREAMING: you can set the start date & time that the Episodes within this Playlist type will automatically begin to play/stream through your Media Centers and Players. The player’s controls will not be visible and therefore all viewers will be watching at the same position within the media file’s timeline, during playback. You can then moderate and encourage interaction between your staff and the viewers through the Media Center's Chat utility.  It is like watching a TV program that beings at a set time, with everyone watching at the same point in time. Please note: due to the technology involved, this feature does not function properly on all mobile devices.

- DATE FORMAT: you will be able to set the date format that is used throughout yourStudio.  mm/dd/yyyy, dd/mm/yyyy, yyyy/mm/dd

SECURE FTP uploading as an alternative upload method to your in-browser solution.
